Jose S. Martinez

Jose S. Martinez passed away December 31, 2016 at the age of 68.

Jose loved spending time with his family, reading and studying the Bible, and fishing and hunting. He was a teacher for Alice ISD for 36 years and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his family, wife, Isidra C. Martinez; daughters, Mari (Robert) Garcia and Areceli “Shelly” (Rene) Moreno; sons, Jose G. Martinez and Xavier Martinez; and grandchildren: Jose T. Martinez, Anissa Garcia, Larisa Garcia, Dezarae Moreno, Mya Garcia, Natalie Moreno, RJ Moreno, and Xavion Starks.

The family will be receiving friends on Monday, January 2, 2017, from 4 to 9 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St.; with a prayer service to be held at 7 PM. Rites of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at 10 AM at El Mesias United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Alice Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jose G. Martinez, Xavier J. Martinez, Rene A. Moreno, Robert Garcia, Danny Cruz, and Gilbert Cruz.
