Jose Angel Moreno passed away on October 9, 2017 at the age of 89. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. His is proceeded in death by his son, Juan Jose Moreno. Jose is survived by his wife, Adelita Moreno; daughters, Graciela Prado (Isidoro), Anna Ramos (Sean Holohan), Angelica Arriola (Paul), Terry Moreno (Ralph); son, Joseph Angel Moreno, Jr. (Humberto Fonseca); 13 grandchildren; Sonny Prado, Lanette Guerra (Moses), Michael Prado, Josh Prado, Anthony Ramos (Abbey), Jessica Nichols (Tim), Zeke Arriola, Alexis Arriola (Rodney), Cienna Moreno, Seth Moreno, Meranda Gomez, John Isaac Moreno, Xavier Moreno; 13 great-grandchildren; Keely, Shylan, Luke, and Samuel Prado, Chris, Nick, and Aidan Guerra, Aubree & Skylar Ramos, Judah & Luke Nichols, Isaiah Blackerby, and Noah Gomez and 1 great-great-grandchild; Adalynn Guerra; sisters, Aurelia Moreno Ramones and Francisca Moreno Limas. Jose Angel Moreno was born in Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and came to the US and settled in Corpus Christi, TX in his late teens. He took a job at the Wilson Tower, where he met his beautiful wife, Adelita of 66 years. He was also a Veteran of the US Marine Corp in the 1950's. Soon he would be offered a job in the late 1960's from Hank Snyder, where it turned out to be a lifelong career and relationship that lasted until August 1, 2016. The Snyder's became his second family, where he enjoyed working and spent so much of his life there. Jose was a part of the Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph Church. He would usher early mass but then would return to the later mass to attend with his wife. He was a part of the Schoenstatt movement and would walk the 42 miles from Corpus Christi to the Rockport, TX Shrine in support of Father Kentenich's mission. He was also a part of the Roy Miller Band Booster Club and would march alongside the Miller Band carrying a banner. He was at every football game & volunteered to chaperone every band function, even as far as Washington, D.C. He not only devoted his time and energy to his family but to all his organizations he was a part of. Jose was a very proud man, especially of all his children and family! He was a very hard worker and supported his children in everything that they did. He was the perfect example of what a husband and father should be and lived his life to the fullest. He will be remembered for his love of football, especially the Dallas Cowboys! He was a true fan and enjoyed watching football games with a family barbeque, enjoying a cold beer. He also enjoyed listening to Spanish music and mariachis where he could take his wife dancing. Jose was loved by so many and will be truly missed by all, especially his family. The family will receive condolences on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. at Port from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the evening; where a Vigil for the deceased and Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral cortege will depart the funeral chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2017 to St. Joseph Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
