Jose Humberto Munoz

Jose Humberto Munoz, 84 of Falfurrias, Texas (La Gloria Community), passed away on July 4, 2018 In Corpus Christi Texas from complications of a stroke. Humberto was born in the La Gloria Community (Falfurrias, Tx.), On April 16, 1934.

Jose Humberto was a farmer/rancher and farmed the same land he was born on for many years as well as raising his own Beef Masters cattle. He enjoyed planting trees, reading and watching westerns, biographies and crime stories. He was known in the community for his delicious watermelons and his Calabazas. Jose Humberto was an Army Veteran and was proud of having served his country.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Flavio and Dominga Munoz; brothers, David Munoz, Ricardo Munoz, Sylvester Munoz, and Flavio Munoz.

Jose Humberto is survived by his wife of 56 years, Aminta Munoz; daughters, Selina(Jack) Munoz-Millen, Louisa (Bob) Lang, and Nita (David) Quintanilla; son Joey (Lori) Munoz; grandchildren, Adam David Quintanilla, Anna Blair Lang, and Joseph Munoz; sisters, Mary Galindo and Lupe Cardenas both of San Antonio Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port., with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A chapel service will take place on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at Trevino Funeral Home. The funeral cortege will depart the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. to Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery for a Rite of Committal and Interment with Military Honors.

Serving as Pall Bearers will be, Adam D. Quintanilla, Ray Garcia, Marcus Galindo, Joseph Munoz, J.J. Sayler, and Jack Millen.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Korean Veterans Memorial (koreanwarvetsmemorial.org). The family of Jose Humberto Munoz wishes to thank Esplanade Rehabilitation Hospital and Angel Bright Hospice.
