Jose Angel Olivares

Jose Angel Olivares, born on August 2, 1946, in Matamoros, Mexico, passed away peacefully in Corpus Christi on October 25, 2025. Jose was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Guadalupe Olivares.

For over 35 years, Jose committed himself to the City of Corpus Christi, where he was known for his dedication and service. His contributions to the city were a testament to his strong work ethic and his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of those around him.

Beyond his professional life, Jose was a man of many passions. He was a great dancer, known for his lively spirit that brought joy to gatherings. His love for playing pool showcased not only his skill but also his camaraderie with friends. Most notably, Jose was a talented accordion player, enchanting many with his music and using his talent to praise the world and uplift the spirit of Christ.

Jose's legacy will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Guadalupe, as well as in the memories shared by family and friends. He is reunited in spirit with his dear daughter, Mary Jane Galvan, who predeceased him.

As we remember Jose Angel Olivares, we celebrate a life rich with love, music, and dedication to community and family. His vibrant spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.

Jose’s family will receive condolences on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St., from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM; with a Prayer Service to begin at 12:30 PM. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, at 2:30 PM.
