Jose Ezequiel Rivas

Jose Ezequiel Rivas, age 57 of Corpus Christi, TX, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024. Born on October 10, 1966, in the same city where he would live his entire life, Jose was known for his unwavering spirit and infectious enthusiasm for life. Jose's journey began in Corpus Christi where he grew up surrounded by the coastal breezes and the warmth of a close-knit community. After graduating from high school, he pursued a career that was as practical as it was fulfilling, becoming a respected member of the local workforce. It was in this vibrant city that he met and married his beloved wife, Vicky, with whom he shared 25 wonderful years. Together, they raised a family that was the center of Jose's world, his daughter, Jolynn, and his sons, Juan Andres and Joe Ezequiel Jr. A man of many passions, Jose was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, never missing a game and always ready to cheer on his team with fervor. His love for the open road was evident in the joy he took from riding his motorcycle, feeling the freedom of the Texas highways beneath him. Fishing was another of Jose's cherished pastimes, a hobby that provided him with both relaxation and a way to connect with nature. Jose's legacy is carried forward by his devoted wife, Vicky, and their three children who embody the values he instilled in them: strength, love, and perseverance. His presence in their lives was a source of constant support and guidance, and his memory will continue to serve as a beacon of inspiration. As a pillar of his community, Jose's absence will be felt by many. His genuine kindness, readiness to lend a hand, and hearty laugh created bonds that extended far beyond his immediate family. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him will remember a man who embraced life's joys and challenges with equal measure, and who stood as a testament to the power of a positive outlook. Jose Ezequiel Rivas lived a life marked by love, commitment, and joy. He may have departed from this world, but his spirit remains; a lasting tribute to the man who so deeply touched the hearts of those around him. Jose's memory will be cherished and honored by all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

Jose’s family will receive condolences on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.  A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. Services will conclude in the chapel that evening.
