Jose Antonio Rodriguez, a cherished family man, avid fisherman, and lover of music, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on April 8, 1948, in Cameron, Texas, Jose's life was one of dedication, warmth, and enduring kindness.

Jose is preceded in death by his loving parents, Antonio Rodriguez and Jesusa Salazar, and his dear sisters, Lucia and Rosa Rodriguez. Jose's legacy is survived by his beloved daughter, Merissa (David) Zambrano, and his brothers, Gilbert, Jesse "Chuy," Rudy, and Danny Rodriguez, who will forever remember his loving spirit and gentle heart.

For many years, Jose served his community as a groundskeeper, a role that allowed him to work intimately with the earth he so deeply cherished. His dedication to his work was evident in the meticulous care he took of the landscapes entrusted to him, and his efforts did not go unnoticed. His colleagues and those who knew him through his work admired Jose for his reliability and the pride he took in his craft.

Outside of work, Jose could often be found on the lake, rod in hand, waiting patiently for the next big catch. Fishing was not just a hobby for Jose—it was a passion that brought him immeasurable peace and joy. He had a knack for finding the best fishing spots and would spend hours immersed in the serenity of nature, a testament to his patience and deep connection to the outdoors.

Jose's life was a beautiful tapestry of devotion to his family, passion for his interests, and a boundless capacity for love. His presence was a comfort, his laughter a joy, and his guidance a steady force for all who were fortunate enough to have known him.

As we bid farewell to Jose Antonio Rodriguez, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart fully given, and a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. Jose’s family will receive condolences on Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave.; with Liturgy of the Word to begin at 12:30 followed by a Eulogy. Services will conclude in the chapel.
