Jose "Joe" M. Sauceda

Jose “Joe” M. Sauceda of Portland, Texas passed away at his home on January 21, 2017. He was 83 years of age. Joe was born September 15, 1933 to the late Juan Alcalan Sauceda and Maria Martinez Sauceda. Joe met and married Corina Rodriguez in Portland, Texas and from that union five children were born; Joe was a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker, and besides his woodworking, enjoyed time spent traveling with his grandson, Michael Sauceda.

Besides his parents and wife, Joe was preceded in death by his son, Samuel “Sammy” Sauceda, and son-in-law, Joe Hinojosa; brothers, Pedro “Pete” Sauceda, Enrique “Henry” Sauceda, Crescencio Sauceda, Francisco Sauceda, and Nicholas Sauceda; sisters, Isabelle Sauceda Naranjo, and Juanita Sauceda.

Joe is survived by his children, Joe Alfred “Freddy” (Diana) Sauceda of Portland, Raymond (Curtis Campbell) Sauceda of Corpus Christi, Norma Sauceda of Portland, Rachel (Robert) Martinez of Sinton, and Theodoro Rodriguez of Portland; brother, Juan C. Sauceda, Sr., of Sugarland, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm with a prayer service at 3:00 pm at Trevino Funeral Home 3006 Niagara St, Corpus Christi, TX 78405
