Jose's work ethic was unparalleled. For many years, he painted with Lara's Painting Service in Sweet Water, Texas, before embarking on a successful 20-year journey as a self-employed painter. His commitment to his craft was evident in his punctuality, honesty, and the respect he showed to both his work and his colleagues. He was a true man of his word, taking pride in a job well done. Jose was a quiet and humble man who cherished the simple pleasures in life. He enjoyed listening to Tejano music, playing his guitar, and gathering with his brothers and family to barbeque, to celebrate an achievement, or to celebrate a birthday of a family member.  He also enjoyed singing along to his favorite song, Tres Ramas, by Agustin Ramirez or El Pintor.

Jose's favorite day of the year was Father's Day, a special time when he felt the warmth and affection of each of his children. They would each call him to wish him a Happy Father’s Day, bringing him immeasurable joy and happiness.
