Josefina Aguilar Almaguer

Josefina Aguilar Almaguer was called home on April 14, 2018 at the age of 73. Josefina Aguilar Almaguer was born on January 6, 1945, just one day after the love her life and soulmate, Juan Manuel Almaguer. She was born in Raymondville, Texas. She was married to our dad for 54 years and loved our father with all her heart. They would always kid around and looked for each other if they weren't in each other’s sight for a while. Ups and downs, smiles and frowns, but they had a fulfilling life together. She was a wonderful mother and sacrificed so much just to see her children happy. She gave us her all even when we thought she didn't have anything left to give. She loved music, especially Santana. She would do a little sitting dance and say "Ooooh, I love Santana" with a big smile on her face. She loved hearing her son-in-law, Ray Ray de Los Agues new music before anyone in the world. She always felt special. You couldn't tell her you love her and leave at that because her famous last words were "Love you More". She would always say that one of her biggest accomplishments was her loving family. She was a strong woman of God and very faithful to her religion. She loved praying and going to church to worship our Savior. She also loved her adoration group at Church. Our sister Corina loved seeing her get all her items ready to go to adoration. She taught us all about God, love and prayer. She loved all her children equally and made us all feel special. She loved her daughter-in laws too! Jennie says, "I couldn't have asked for a better mother-in law. She welcomed me with open arms when I was only 19 and gave me the best advice with my children when I felt lost and didn't know what to do. She came to South Dakota with Corina to watch my first baby be born because she knew how scared I was. I will always remember bugging her by calling her to Circle K in the mornings if I needed to talk and I always felt better afterwards. She just had a way of making me feel like everything was gonna be fine no matter what." Lani says, “she would give the shirt off her back if I asked for it. She was a second mother to me and was there for us on so many occasions. One that stands out is that she came to Houston to be our support when our 4-month-old had open heart surgery. She had such a huge giving heart and everlasting love for her family." She had so much love to give us all. She was the best listener to everyone and would never judge anyone. She worked so hard to get us through school, to buy us everything we needed and didn't eat sometimes so her children could be full and content. She worked at Circle-K/Stripes for over 30 years and was loved by her peers. She was a hard-working employee and her work ethic was one that was hard to match. When she retired her boss and co-workers surprised her at a meeting and honored her with an award. She was an amazing mother. She made the best tamales. She loved making her garden beautiful with my dad. They took strolls to Wal-Mart together all the time. When we would call them, you better believe they were there or at Home Depot. We will miss her so much, but we are proud to be her children. We celebrate her life because we know she is now living in eternal paradise. She is resting in peace with our Savior Jesus Christ. You will never be forgotten mom. You are in our hearts forever.
