Josephine Rocha Fuentes, 95, passed into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 25, 2020. Josephine was born on September 18, 1924 in Nixon, Texas; and lived in Corpus Christi as an adult. She was known for being a strong woman, who persevered and conquered many challenges throughout her life. Josephine was a smart tenacious lady. As a young woman, she was a hard worker who enjoyed various jobs. Being a "go-getter", she attended Beauty School earning her cosmetology license. Josephine worked as a beautician and an Avon Representative. During her tenure as an Avon Representative, she earned her way into the Avon President's Club-- a high honor for top sellers. During her later years, she worked as a "grandparent" for children with disabilities at the Corpus Christi State School. Most of all, she enjoyed being a beautician and an Avon Representative. Josephine had a good sense of humor and enjoyed the whimsical side of life. She will be deeply missed by her loving family until they are reunited in God's Kingdom.
Preceded in death are her parents, Guadalupe and Leonardo Rocha; husband, Antonio Fuentes; Baby Daughter; son, Antonio Fuentes, Jr.; brothers, Leonardo Rocha, Jr. and Paul Rocha; and sisters, Eva Hernández and Helen Gomez.
She is survived by her daughters: Adel Fuentes and Norma A. Camarillo (Andres) who devoted herself unconditionally to her care; son, Ray Fuentes; grandchildren: Sandra A. Fabela, Ronny Fuentes, Marcos Fuentes, Philip Fuentes, Adrián Fuentes, Christina Fuentes, Stephen Fuentes, Brian Fuentes, Amber L. Busby, and Luke Camarillo; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank and express their gratitude to the staff at Cimarron place, Angel Bright Hospice Center (especially those who went above and beyond their regular duties to care for Mrs. Fuentes), also to her in home providers, Nellie and Paula; and to the numerous friends who have expressed their kindness and support.
Josephine’s family will receive condolences on Monday, August 3, 2020, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. at Port Ave, Corpus Christi, Texas 78405; with a Rosary and Liturgy of the Word to be held at 10:00 a.m. that same day. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
