Juan Francisco Ambriz

Juan Francisco Ambriz, 49, passed away on December 23, 2023. He was born on November 13, 1974, in Corpus Christi to Franciso and Cecilia Ambriz. He grew up in Corpus Christi and graduated from WB Ray High School, Class of 1993, where he was an Offensive Lineman for the Mighty Texans.

Juan worked in the service industry and was always willing and able to lend a helping hand; from preparing apartments for new tenants to enjoy their new homes, to construction providing quality affordable work, and as a medical device servicer providing much-needed medical equipment to the infirm. He took joy in helping people and developing new friendships and relationships with his clients.

Outside of work, Juan was a devoted Father, providing unwavering love and support to his children. His greatest joy was spending time with family and creating memories that will be cherished forever. He took great joy from the little things in life, such as his beer with pickle juice and those tasty crawfish.

He is survived by his children Victoria, Sebaztihjuan, and Zildjian Vela-Ambriz; parents, Francisco and Cecilia Ambriz; brother, David Ambriz and wife Angelica; and brother, Francisco Ambriz Jr. (Jessica Gonzalez).

Juan had a passion for so many things; video games with his brother Frank, a good football game, an exciting fight, giant Jenga at the local tavern, and spending time with his friends hanging out and fishing. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his children. Like quiet time with sweet Baz, watching Victoria playing softball, and Zildjian playing football. Juan’s children were his greatest joy; seeing his daughter walk the stage to graduate from high school and then go on to college and seeing his son performing in a series of high school plays and musicals.

Juan’s family will receive condolences on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave., from 2:30 PM until 6:00 PM. A Holy Rosary will begin at 3:00 PM. Services will conclude that day.
