Juan Jose "Jay" Cantu

Juan Jose ”Jay” Cantu passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at the age of 52. He was born on January 19, 1970, to his parents Rogelio and Isabel Cantu, in Idalou, TX. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him. Jay was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a hard working handyman who could do anything from picking cotton to landscaping. He enjoyed spending time fishing, family gatherings, and barbequing; but his favorite pastime was being around and playing with his grandsons whom he loved dearly. Jay looked forward to celebrating all holidays, especially Christmas enjoying all the decorations and lights. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Rogelio and Isabel Cantu; brothers, Samuel and Daniel Cantu; in-laws, Enrique “Henry” and Georgia Vela. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 38 years, Rachel Cantu; daughters, Rachel (Randy Lee) Santos and Elizabeth (Ruben Gonzalez) Cantu; and grandsons, Randy Santos Jr, Ricco Jay Santos, Rex Axle Santos, and Logan Mack Gonzalez; sisters Maria Fields and Maria “Sandy” Sandoval.
