Juan C Hernandez

Juan C. Hernandez passed away peacefully at his residence on November 28, 2023, in Alice, Texas. He was born on September 22, 1951, to his parents, Ignacio and Olivia Hernandez, in San Diego, Texas.

His early years in San Diego shaped him into a young man who valued education and taught him the importance of family bonds. Although his formal education concluded after the 9th grade, Juan possessed wisdom and practical knowledge that far surpassed the walls of any classroom.

He found solace and pleasure tending to his garden, where he cultivated tomatoes and chillis with the same care and attention he gave to every aspect of his life. His love for Tejano music was deep-rooted, with artists like Ruben Naranjo and Freddy Martinez providing the soundtracks for many joyous dances. A devoted fan of the Houston Texans, Juan enjoyed the camaraderie and excitement of watching the games, as well as the thrill of playing bingo with family and friends. Yet, nothing compared to the joy he received from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

For the majority of his life, Juan dedicated himself to the construction industry. Known for his punctuality and strong work ethic, he earned the respect and admiration of all who knew him for his value of honesty, kindness, thoughtfulness, having a good loving heart, and being attentive to the needs of family and friends.

Juan is proceeded in death by his parents, Ignacio and Olivia Hernandez, and his siblings, Anita Hernandez, Aurora Alvarado, Mario Hernandez, Jesus Hernandez, Jose Luis Hernandez, Juan Manuel Hernandez, and Ignacio Zaragoza Hernandez, Jr.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Sylvia (Roberto) Compian; his son, Juan Hernandez Jr.; sister, Gloria Moreno; brother, Carlos Hernandez; grandchildren, Melani Compian, Roberto Compian III, Madison Compian, Maribelle Compian, and Ayla Hernandez; four great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.  Juan's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of his beloved family and friends.
