Obituary

Juan Manuel Salazar, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on September 6, 2026, in Corpus Christi, TX. He was born on August 18, 1956, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Juan will be remembered as a man who found joy in life’s simple and meaningful blessings. He loved music and once played the saxophone with the West Oso Band, sharing his talent and love of song with others. He also loved being outdoors and took great pride in working on his yard. He truly had a green thumb, and that care and patience could be seen in the things he nurtured. Above all, he loved spending time with his granddaughter, a bond that brought him deep happiness.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Monica Salazar; his daughter, Gloria Salazar (Giovanni Moreno); and his cherished granddaughter, Evie Maurice. He also leaves behind his siblings, Jose Luis Salazar and his wife, Beatrice, Vicente Salazar III and his wife, Thelma, Irma Garza and her husband, Robert, and Abel Salazar, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Each of them carries cherished memories of Juan—his love, his presence, his kindness, and the many special moments they shared together. His memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Isabel Salazar, and by his parents, Emma Salazar and Vicente Salazar Jr.

Juan Manuel Salazar will be remembered with love by all who knew him. His memory lives on in the music he played, in the beauty he cultivated around him, and in the family he held close to his heart.
