Julia A. Barrientes

Mrs. Julia Alvarado Barrientes passed away on December 31, 2017 at the age of 88. She was born on June 19, 1929 in Skidmore, Texas to Sotero and Rosa M. Alvarado. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Barrientes; parents, Sotero and Rosa M. Alvarado; sons, David Barrientes Jr., Carlos Barrientes, Manuel Barrientes; daughters, Virginia Escamilla and Maria Barrientes. Julia is survived by her daughters, Alma Barrientes, Rosa Maria Elizondo; sons, Roberto and Jose Manuel Barrientes; sister, Remedios “LLeme” Alvarado; brothers, Cirilo, Gilberto, and Romulo Alvarado; 18 grandchildren, numerous great- grandchildren. The family will receive condolences on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. at Port from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. where a Vigil of the deceased and holy rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Funeral cortege will depart the funeral chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018 to St. Joseph Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
