Julian Guzman Tello

Julian Guzman Tello passed away peacefully into eternal life on Thursday, September 18, 2025. He was born on September 7, 1947, in Doctor Arroyo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, where he grew up working from a very young age in agriculture.

Julian moved to Alice, Texas, when he was in his 20’s. He was a respectful, kind, honest, strong, and hardworking man who worked in construction and cement jobs most of his life.

He enjoyed gardening, especially growing calabaza and beans. Farming was another job he enjoyed. Julian loved listening and singing along to Mexican music and spending time celebrating with friends. After his stroke around 2006-2007, he lost most of his voice. Even though he couldn’t speak he stayed strong in his faith and always put God first; every time he passed in front of a Catholic church he always blessed himself by making the sign of the cross out of reverence and respect. He also never forgot to say the words, “Padre que estas en los cielos,” which he often prayed out loud.

Julian is proceeded in death by his parents, Enriqueta Tello and Pablo Guzman; his brothers, Francisco Guzman Tello and Refugio Guzman Tello; and his sister, Joaquina Guzman Tello.

He is survived by his dear friends who were like family to him for the last 30 years, Marlen Hernandez and Conchita Hernandez. He is also survived by his estranged brothers in Mexico, Santos Guzman Tello and Simon Guzman Tello.

Rest in Peace Julian.
