Julio Sosa

Julio C. Sosa, 73, of Floresville Tx, joined our Heavenly Father, on October 22, 2021, after a difficult battle with multiple myeloma cancer.  He was surrounded at his passing by his loving wife, children, his siblings, and family friends.

Julio was born on July 8, 1948 in Riverside, California.  After graduating from Martin High School in Laredo Tx, he attended St. Mary’s University where he received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (1971), and returned to Laredo where he pursued a career in Finance and real estate. During his career, he received multiple awards and recognitions for his contribution to social and political change in Texas. In 1993 he received a Bachelor’s in Education to become an educator for LISD where he influenced the lives of his students.  After retirement, he moved to Floresville to be with his sons and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Guadalupe Sosa.  He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Gloria, and sons Julio Jr (Maggie), Rolando (Vanessa), and Ricardo (Zenaida), and 5 grandchildren: Rolando Jr, Julio III, Jacob, Joanna, and Lily.  He is also survived by his siblings: Dr. Jose I. Sosa, Francisco (Alicia), Pauline, and numerous cousins and aunts.

Julio was a caring father and husband who dedicated his life to his family.  He enjoyed hosting the family holiday parties where extended family would gather to share good times. He was an avid coin collector, loved animals and had many traveling adventures with his Family.  Julio was a devoted son who watched over his Mom and Dad.

The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vinyard Funeral Home, 1011 4th Street, Floresville, Tx; where a Rosary will commence at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Friday morning, Oct 29, 2021 departing at 9 a.m. from Vinyard Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
