Kathryn Ann King Gibson
Kathryn Ann King was born on March 15, 1948, in Houston, Texas, to her parents Faith (nee Norton) and JB “Sleepy” King, and passed from this life on April 17, 2019, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Kathy, as she was called by her friends, graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1966 and married Ronald “Ronnie” Gene Gibson the next year on August 12. RonKat, as they were affectionally known by their regular customers, were self-employed for 50 years at H&L Auto Service at Port and Ayers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Mike King.
Kathy is survived by Ronnie and their two children Brian (Ginger Stewart) and Mitzi (Michael Sollitto), grandchildren Maddie, BJ, Regan, Kyle, and Cameron, nine grandcats, two nephews and one niece. Surviving siblings include David (Jeanne) King, Mark (Carol) King, Candy (Scott) Loadman, and sister-in-law Linda King.
A memorial for Kathy will be hosted by her family on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 11 a.m., at Covenant Baptist Church, 7001 Williams Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas. Dr. Billy Storms, long-time family minister, will preside over the service.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family request that donations be made in Kathy’s name to The Cattery Cat Shelter in Corpus Christi or the American Heart Association.
