Lazaro "Zee" Paredes Zaragoza, age 63, earned his wings on beautiful Easter Sunday, April 4th, 2021, in Corpus Christi, TX. He was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas to Jose Manuel and Maria Elena Zaragoza.
Lazaro was a loud and proud loyal Miller Buc Alumni, Veteran of the United States Army, and die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan. He was employed by Corpus Christi Army Depot for over 43 years as an aircraft mechanic/work leader. He was a strong and devoted Catholic, supporting Prolife, charities, and volunteering his time. He enjoyed being fully involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s school activities; from being a proud Buc Cheer Dad, PTA President, Miller High-stepper Booster Dad, and Parent/Grandparent volunteer. He always made sure to honor all veterans by setting up all the Military flags at the school on Veterans Day.
He will be remembered for the love and support he gave to everyone that he met.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Manuel and Maria Elena Zaragoza; twin brother, Secundino Zaragoza; and little sister, Martina Zaragoza.
Lazaro is survived by his wife, Carmen Benavidez-Zaragoza; daughters, Audrey Geweily, Brenda (Noel) Hernandez, Ashley (Roberto) Cerda, and Zoe Zaragoza; his only son, Zachary Zaragoza; six granddaughters, Julianna, Elley, Eelisa, Elianna, Sophia, Mia, and Luna; three grandsons, Jack Daniel, Noel III, and Wesley; six sisters and three brothers; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive condolences on Sunday, April 11, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port; with a holy rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. A funeral cortège will depart the funeral home on Monday, April 12, 2021, at 9:30 AM to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with full military honors.
