Leonel Curiel

Leonel Curiel, born November 13, 1943 to Aristeo and Adela Curiel in Laredo, TX, passed away February 22, 2019 at the age of 75. Leo, as he was affectionately known, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He loved to listen to his radio loud so he could dance and barbecue for his family whom he loved so much. Leo was a great man that enjoyed life and his grandchildren. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Olivia Flores; and a nephew, David Rodriguez.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie Curiel; daughters, Mary Ann (Leopoldo) Ramirez and Brenda (Noe) Flores; sons, Leonel (Martha) Curiel and Michael (Susan) Curiel; his mother; sisters, Anna Rodriguez and Adriana Croyne; brother, Rafael (Blanca) Curiel; step-children, Roxanne Morin, Ramiro Lopez, and Ricky Morin; numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and great-grandson, who was his pride and joy, Aaron Moreno.

The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St. Alice, TX; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home Thursday, February 28, 2019, at 9:45 AM to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
