Leonor Quintanilla, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, in Corpus Christi, TX. Born on May 18, 1942, in Chapman Ranch, TX, Leonor’s life was a vibrant tapestry woven with love, joy, and an unquenchable spirit.

Leonor had a profound love for dancing and traveling, passions that brought light and laughter not only to her own life but also to those around her. Her zest for celebrating life’s moments made her a beacon of warmth and inspiration.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Raul Quintanilla; her dear daughter, Leonor Banda; granddaughter, Meranda Vela; parents, Luis Zaragosa Sr. and Paula S. Zaragosa; and several siblings whose memories she carried in her heart, Delfino, Fernando (Concepcion), Inocencio (Maria), Ignacio (Diamanitina), Juan (Gregoria), Atanacio (Elvira), and Esperanza Banda.

Left to honor and celebrate her legacy are her cherished children, Cynthia Vela, Jose Angel Vela Jr. (Esperanza), and Jose Martin Vela (Diana). Alongside them are her siblings, Maria Luisa Luna, Dionocio Zaragosa, and Luis Zaragosa Jr., who shared in the joys and trials of a lifetime together. Leonor’s love radiates through her seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, each of whom felt the depth of her affection and guidance.

Leonor’s life story is one of resilience, grace, and boundless affection. Her presence touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting imprint of kindness and strength. As we remember Leonor, we hold close the memories of her laughter, her dance, and the journeys she embraced with open arms.
