Linda O. Carrillo, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on December 3, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by family. Born on May 25, 1950, in Alice, Texas, she lived a life filled with love, generosity, talents and love for her family.
Linda was a talented cook and dedicated more than 20 years of her life to the Alice Independent School District, culminating in her career as the Foodservice Manager. Her kindness and attentiveness were felt by countless students, whom she ensured were well-fed and cared for. She also spent several years working at Community Action, continuing her legacy of service to the community. Her co-workers admired her dedication and built lasting friendships of pure love in all her years of life. Her cooking talents didn’t stop at work she also brought it home with many terrific dishes – her tamales and enchiladas were the bomb.
Thanksgiving was a cherished time for Linda, as she looked forward to cooking and baking her children’s favorite meals, surrounded by laughter, love, and heartfelt celebrations. The moments shared during family gatherings—watching football, golf, and boxing together—were some of her most treasured memories.
Linda was not only a supporter of the Dallas Cowboys football team, but she also enjoyed the thrills of gaming alongside her late husband. Together, they traveled to Eagle Pass and Louisiana, indulging in their shared passion for the excitement of casinos. She loved listening to Tejano music and watching Novelas, she delighted in watching her favorite shows, including "The Young and the Restless" and "Caso Cerrado."
Linda’s warmth, strength, and dedication to her family and faith leave an enduring legacy that will live on in all the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but she will live in spirit to inspire and guide those left behind.
Linda was incredibly proud of her family, which she considered her greatest accomplishment. She cherished her two sons, Gabriel and Jason, and embraced their wives, Roxie and Connie, as her daughters. The joy of being a grandmother filled her heart; she adored her grandchildren Alexandra, Addison, Ruben, Blaze, Kassandra, Danielle, and Daniel Jr. There were no limits to her love.
Her faith was integral to her identity, and she was a lifetime active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Linda's humble and kind spirit always made her attentive to those in need, helping others generously and selflessly.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jesse Carrillo; her sons, Jesse Carrillo Jr. and Daniel Carrillo; her parents, Luis and Susana Olvera; her in-laws, Oscar and Leonor Carrillo; her brother, David Olvera; and her nephew, Marco Olvera.
Linda is survived by her loving sons, Gabriel (Roxie) Carrillo and Jason (Connie) Carrillo; her cherished grandchildren, Alexandra Carrillo, Addison Carrillo, Ruben Bueno III, Blaze Lee Bueno, Kassandra (Robert) Barrera, Danielle (Raul) Gonzalez, and Daniel Carrillo Jr.; her brother, Luis (Belinda) Olvera; and her daughter-in-law, Sally Carrillo; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will miss her dearly.
Linda's family will receive condolences on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Trevino Funeral Home Alice, 120 E. Front St., from 5:00PM until 9:00PM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 09:30AM on Thursday, December 11, 2025, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at New Collins Cemetery.
Honoring Linda as pallbearers will be Kenny Barrera, Robert Barrera, Oscar Ortiz, Rudy Garza, Alex Araujo, and Jesus Cavazos.
