Loida Sosa Esquivel

Loida Isabel Sosa Esquivel, 71 went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 21, 2017. She was born on July 6, 1946 in Corpus Christi, TX. Loida graduated from Roy Miller High School and attended Del Mar College. She worked at Memorial Hospital as a Nurse's Aide prior to becoming a devoted wife and mother. Loida Isabel was a long- time member of Primera Iglesia Bautista where she served as a choir member for 40 years, a WMU Director, Dorcas Director, Children's Sunday School Director, Children’s teacher and other positions within the church. For the last ten years she was a member of Annaville Baptist Church and served as an Awana Children's leader, Sunday School member and VBS helper. She helped start and lead a Children's Ministry Club in her community.

Loida Isabel was preceded in death by her husband Ignacio Esquivel, and her parents Rudolph Sr. and Martha Sosa. Survivors left to cherish her memory include her brothers Rudolph, Abel , Manuel Sosa, her sisters, Angelita Sosa, Irene Carrizales, and Ana Moreno. She is also survived by her children, Pepe Esquivel (Priscilla), Isabel Diaz (Marcelo) and grandchildren, Jacqueline and Jacob Esquivel, Christopher and David Diaz. Loida Isabel was a dedicated mother and grandmother who sacrificed everything for her children. As a young widow she always put her kids first and provided for her children no matter the circumstances. Her grandchildren will always remember her as a loving, kind grandmother. Loida's favorite color was pink, and she was known as the "Pretty Lady in Pink". She had a great love for the Lord and a desire to share Christ with others. She was a wonderful blessing to many lives and will be greatly missed. We have the assurance that Loida Isabel is now singing with the Angels in Heaven and we will see her soon.

Serving as pall bearers include Pepe Esquivel, Marcelo Diaz, Benjamin Carrizales, Tony Reyna, Joshua Sosa, and Johnathan Sosa. Family will receive condolences on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Trevino funeral Home from 5:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M, 3006 Niagara St, Corpus Christi, TX 78405. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 29, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Annaville Baptist church, 4025 Violet Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78410 with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville, RD, Corpus Christi, TX 78415.
