Lucilla G. Moore

Lucilla G. Moore passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday, March 18, 2022, at the age of 87.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lucilla was dedicated to her family and taught her children the value of hard work. She graduated from San Diego High School, obtained a degree in cosmetology, and owned Lucy’s Beauty Shop in San Diego. She was also co-owner of Ray Mobile Home, a substitute teacher for the San Diego ISD, and retired from The Teacher’s Credit Union Bank, where she worked as a teller. She loved bowling, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Lucilla is preceded in death by her parents, Alvaro and Eliza Garza; sisters, Zulema Soliz and Victoria G. Adame; and brothers, Alvaro Garza Jr and Roberto “Bobby” Garza.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lucy Ann (Armando) Olivares, Lina Diane Lopez, and Lorraine Lopez; sister, Elsa Crain; grandchildren, Alfred Maldonado III, Lucille Ann (Patrick) Moreno, Randall (Rosa) Lopez; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

The family extends a most sincere thank you to Emma L. Barrera and Michael Cantu for the special care and love they extended to our mother, Lucilla G. Moore.
