Lucy Anita Salazar

Lucy Anita Salazar, a beacon of joy and kindness, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024, at the age of 75 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on June 4, 1948, in Brownsville, Texas, Lucy's life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and dedication. Lucy's early years in Brownsville were filled with the warmth of a close-knit community and the love of her family. Her journey led her to Corpus Christi, where she would eventually make a lasting impact on all those she encountered. Lucy's professional life was marked by her tenure as a dedicated US Postal clerk, a role in which she served with distinction and unwavering commitment. Known for her infectious laughter and her ability to light up any room, Lucy was the heart of her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Manuel Salazar, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. Her parents, Pablo and Francisca Martinez; sisters, Louis Ramos and Maria Gonzales, and her adored dog, Spooky, also precede her in death. Lucy's legacy continues through her loving family: her daughter, Graciela Salazar; sons, Manuel Salazar III(Diane) and Richard Salazar(Gina); sister, Guadalupe Olivares; and brothers, Juan and Enrique Martinez. Her eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren will forever hold dear the lessons of love and laughter she imparted. Lucy's zest for life was evident in her passions. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and her enthusiasm on game days was contagious. Dancing was a joy that Lucy embraced wholeheartedly, often being the first to hit the dance floor and the last to leave. Her love for Miller Light was well-known, and she enjoyed it most in the company of friends and family. Her pet dog, Spooky, was a constant companion and source of comfort. Those who knew Lucy will remember her as the embodiment of love, kindness, and humor.
