Lupe Gonzales

Lupe Gonzales, 76, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 19, 1948, in Orange Grove, Texas, Lupe was the daughter of Pablo and Christina Gutierrez. Throughout her life she held various jobs, but she was most recognized and admired for her role as a dedicated caregiver. A strong, independent cancer survivor, Lupe was known for her resilience, compassion, and unwavering work ethic.

Lupe found joy in cooking for her loved ones, playing bingo, and rooting for her favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family. Her generous heart and infectious sense of humor brought warmth and laughter to all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Juan (Shelly) Gutierrez, Cynthia (Jesse) Garcia, and Adela Craddock; her grandchildren, Kristin, Corey, Colton, Chassidy, Christopher, Jordan, Damien “DJ,” Matthew, Chelsy, Austin, Justin, and Macy; her sister, Dora Rodriguez; and fourteen great-grandchildren who were the light of her life.

Lupe was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Pablo and Christina Gutierrez; her son, Joey Gonzales; her grandson, Caden Gutierrez; her sister, Elma (Raul) Gutierrez; and her brothers, Pablo (Minnie) Gutierrez Jr., Felipe (Guadalupe) Gutierrez, and Rodolfo Gutierrez.

Lupe Gonzales leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those blessed to have known her.

Lupe’s family will receive condolences on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Treviño Funeral Home Alice, 120 E. Front St., from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM that evening. A Funeral cortege will depart the funeral home on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 9:15 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, Orange Grove, TX, at 10:00 AM. Rite of Committal and Burial will follow at Casa Blanca Cemetery, Sandia, TX.
