Lydia Ramirez, born on September 14, 1961, in Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on January 4, 2026. Lydia was the cherished daughter of Anieto and Benita Flores. Growing up in a loving family, she attended Catholic school and made significant memories as she completed her First Communion, a reflection of her deep-rooted faith.
A devoted and loving mother, Lydia's heart was fully dedicated to her three daughters, whom she cherished deeply. Her legacy as a mother extended into her role as a grandmother to eleven grandchildren and great-grandmother to sixteen great-grandchildren. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she found immense joy in being an integral part of their lives.
Lydia was a woman of delightful energy, known among her family and friends as the life of the party. She brought laughter and joy to those around her, making every get-together memorable. She particularly enjoyed attending midnight bingo and found entertainment in her favorite television programs, including "Let's Make a Deal" and "12 Corazones." Music was another great source of joy for Lydia; she loved listening to Sade as well as Tejano music, which filled her life with rhythm and soul.
In times of challenge, Lydia was a strong and resilient individual, who fought bravely until her final breath, surrounded by her loving family—a testament to the deep bonds she fostered throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, as her spirit and warmth touched the hearts of many.
Lydia is preceded in death by her father, Anieto Flores; her daughter, Arrah Hinojosa; and her brother, Michael Flores. She is survived by her mother, Benita Flores; her daughters, Melissa Garza and Vanessa Hinojosa; her grandchildren, Arianna Hinojosa, Destiny Garza, Desirae Garcia, Alizayah Garcia, Danielle Garza, Jazmin Hinojosa, Priscilla Garza, Jennacy Contreras, Robert Reyes, Ismael Garcia, Anaya Muro, and her sixteen great-grandchildren.
As we remember Lydia, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and resilience. Rest in paradise, dear Momo, until we meet again.
A Memorial visitation honoring Lydia’s life will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave. Services will conclude in the chapel that evening.
