Magdalena Y. Cervantes

Magdalena Y. Cervantes, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on June 30, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on August 21, 1954, Magdalena was a remarkable woman whose life was marked by her strong faith, resilience, and immense love for her family.

Magdalena was predeceased by her husband, Gabriel Andres Cervantes Jr., with whom she shared many cherished moments throughout their life together. Her legacy continues through her devoted children, daughter, Monica White (Bobby), and sons, Rodolfo Javier Ybarra (Andrea Vela), Gabriel Cervantes III, and John-Paul Cervantes. She took great pride in her role as a grandmother and is survived by her six grandchildren, Olivia-Vela Ybarra, Nathaniel Cervantes, Victoria Koehler, Ariah Cervantes, Gabriel Andres Cervantes IV, and Lauren Cervantes, and four great-grandchildren who brought her much joy.

Magdalena is also remembered by her loving siblings. She is survived by sisters, Alicia Ybarra and Rosalie Williams, and brothers, Zeke Ybarra, Richard Lee Ybarra, Albert Ybarra, Cruz Ybarra, Felipe Ybarra, and Seferino Ybarra, who will carry her memory in their hearts.

A memorable aspect of Magdalena’s life was her passion for the Dallas Cowboys, as well as her enjoyment of bowling, activities that brought her much joy. Her strong faith offered her strength and comfort throughout her life, guiding her in her relationships and endeavors.

As we remember Magdalena Y. Cervantes, we celebrate a life filled with love, faith, and connection, leaving an indelible mark on all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, but forever remembered by her family and friends.

Magdalena’s family will receive condolences on Friday, July 4, 2025, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave., from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Liturgy of the Word will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Treviño Funeral Home. Services will conclude in the chapel that morning.
