Manuel R. Solis Jr., aged 82, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Born on September 11, 1941, Manuel's journey through life was marked by his unwavering spirit and the joy he brought to those around him. Manuel was a pillar of strength and love for his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosario C. Solis, and his cherished son, Ernesto Solis. His legacy of compassion and resilience lives on through his two daughters, Nora Escobedo and Joyce (Jerry) Salazar, and his son, Gary Solis, who will continue to honor his memory in their own lives. A man of the community, Manuel was known for his infectious enthusiasm at local football games. He was not just a spectator but an active participant, often manning the ticket booth and offering his unwavering support to the high school teams. His voice was a familiar and welcome presence, echoing the excitement and spirit of the game. Manuel's passion for football extended beyond the local field as he was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. He would never miss a game, and his dedication to his team was as steadfast as his devotion to his family. His love for the sport reflected his commitment to the things that brought joy to his life and to the lives of those around him. In every aspect of his life, Manuel was a beacon of positivity and encouragement. Manuel’s family will receive condolences on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave.; with a Holy Rosary & Liturgy of the Word to begin at 12:30 PM. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veteran Cemetery.
