Manuela Ramirez Mojica, affectionately known as “Meme”, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, in Alice, Texas. Born on November 4, 1957, in Idalou, Texas, Manuela touched the lives of many through her unwavering dedication to her family.
Manuela’s career as a provider for several home health agencies was a role she enjoyed. She provided care with compassion, love, and understanding, and always went beyond the call of duty for her patient; just as she did as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and dear friend.
Manuela was a remarkable woman who instilled in those around her the old-fashioned values of respect, honesty, hard work, and love for family. Manuela's faith was the cornerstone of her life, as she often reminded her family to keep their faith and trust in God.
Throughout her life, Manuela radiated positivity with her wonderful sense of humor and vibrant energy. She was caring and loving, traits that made her a cherished member of her family and community. Manuela had a passion for life, and she enjoyed playing maquinitas/slot machines and loved dancing to Tejano music. One of her favorite daily pastimes was talking on the phone checking on her sisters, family, and friends. She looked forward to family barbeque gatherings, celebrations, or holidays as it was time spent joking, laughing, eating, reminiscing, and just enjoying each other’s company. These gatherings brought immense joy and love to her heart.
Manuela was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Guadalupe Ramirez, and her brother, Lorenzo Ramirez.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Maria (Jacob) Mojica; her sisters, Lupe (Adan) Villarreal, Antonia Heath, Yolanda (Rolando) Robledo, Olga (Ruben) Hernandez, and Mona (Carlos) Moreida; her brothers, Francisco Ramirez Jr. and Jose (Martha) Ramirez; her grandchildren, Anthony, Andrew, Isaak, and Jazmine Hinojosa; her great-grandchildren, Ayven Hinojosa and Aynsley Hinojosa; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will all forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Her legacy of love, laughter, and values will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Manuela Ramirez Mojica will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Manuela’s family will receive condolences on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Treviño Funeral Home Alice, 120 E. Front St., from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a prayer service to begin at 6:00 PM. A chapel service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Treviño Funeral Home at 10:00 AM. Committal and interment will follow at Roberson Collins Memorial Cemetery where she will be laid to rest in the peace of Christ.
