Manuelita Viola Chavira

Manuelita V. Chavira, a woman of love and passion, left this world on December 5, 2024, in Corpus Christi, TX, leaving behind a legacy of joy, family, and an unquenchable zest for life. Born on July 3, 1953, Manuelita's journey was one of vibrant connections, heartfelt moments, and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones. Manuelita's life was a tapestry woven with the love of her devoted children, Xavier Sandoval, Debra Leos (Juan), Randy Valdez (Connie), Francisca Hernandez, and Martha Soto, and her husband, David Chavira. Her sister, Juanita Hinojosa (Paul), and brother, Jerry A. Garcia (Cynthia), also carry forward the light of her spirit. Her grandchildren, Salvador Jr., Larry Jr., Fidela, Emily, Cassandra, Randy Jr., Danielle, Javier, Vincent, Dominic, Xavier Jr., Roman, Devon, Larissa, Annalisa, Joshua, Skyla, Marissa, Joseph, Emerald, Isaac, Xzander, Christopher, Hugo III, Adrian, Isabella, and Mia, along with numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and extended family members, will forever cherish the memories they created together. Manuelita's life was marked by the joy she found in simple pleasures. She was an avid fan of "Little House on the Prairie," and could often be found enjoying her favorite snack of orange soda with Cheeto Puffs. Her love for the beach was only matched by her passion for cooking and baking, creating dishes that brought her family together, especially her famous potato salad. Manuelita's love for music was infectious, with the melodies of Jimmy Gonzalez and Marcos Orozco often filling her home, inspiring dance and laughter.

Though she was preceded in death by her father, Jesus Pedro Garcia, Sr.; mother, Anita G. Guerrero; daughters, Angelita and Margarita Cortez; and brother, Jesus Pedro Garcia, Jr., the legacy they shared lives on through the stories and memories that Manuelita lovingly passed down to her family.

Manuelita was a woman of many virtues—loving, thoughtful, and passionate. She approached life with a heart full of love and hands ready to serve. Her presence was a source of comfort and strength, and her absence will be felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, let us hold tight to the lessons she imparted through her actions and the warmth of her heart. Manuelita's life was a testament to the power of love and the beauty of a life well-lived. May we honor her memory by living each day with the same passion and love that she so generously shared with the world. Rest in peace, dear Manuelita, your light will continue to shine in the hearts of those you touched.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at PAM Specialty Hospital and Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline, especially the ICU Department, for their exceptional care and support during her time there.
