Marcos Lopez Jr. (Marquitos) was born on March 25, 1968 in Edinburg, Texas at Edinburg General Hospital, and passed away August 28, 2021 in Corpus Christi, TX. He was the son of the late Marcos Lopez Sr. and Julia M. Lopez.
Marquitos was loving husband, an amazing father, a caring brother, a heartfelt uncle, and a warmhearted son. He enjoyed teaching anyone around him anything from mechanical work to zeroing your rifle. He loved showing people around him that there was more to life than the simple things in front of them. Family and loving those around him was important to him. He shared with many the importance of love and being there for each other. He touched so many lives during his walk in life. His heart was bigger than life itself. He will be dearly missed by all those knew him and to state it…is an UNDERSTATEMENT. If a family emergency would occur or someone needed a hand, he would always say excitedly, “I’ll be there…Boots on the ground.”
Marcos graduated from West Oso High School and joined the U.S. Army in 1986. He was in Germany during the Fall of the Berlin Wall and a Veteran of Operation Desert Storm. He earned his Airborne wings after his time in Germany. He was the epitome of an Airborne Soldier; Always Ready to Go. He believed in doing what was right no matter the consequences.
Marcos is survived by his wife, Tammie Lopez; his siblings, Alex Lopez and his wife Soraida Lopez and Arturo Lopez and his wife Linda Lopez; his children, Cassandra (Lopez) Morin, Marcos Lopez, Analysa Lopez, Rebecca Bernal, Katelyn Bernal, Summer, Meadow, Jorge Isidro, and John, Drew, and Kendal Walker; his grandchildren, Richard Morin and Olivia Rose Lope, Jadon, Khloe, and Jordyn Walker, and Mason and Haisly Jones; his nieces and nephew, Alexandria Brooke Lopez, Troy Lopez, and Alexia Lopez; and second nephew, Malachi Aiden Dabbs.
Rite of Committal and Interment with full military honors will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 10:00 AM.
Isiah 6:8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
