Margarita Gonzalez

Margarita Alfaro Gonzalez, born June 11, 1927 to Filomeno and Jesusa M. Alfaro, passed away in her home on April 13, 2018 at the age of 90. She loved to play bingo and spending time with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. They always had a way of lighting up her life. Margarita was very loved and will be dearly missed.

Margarita is preceded in death by her parents, Filomeno and Jesusa Alfaro; husband Pedro Gonzalez, Sr.; daughter, Gloria Esther Gonzalez; brother and his wife, Willie and Lilly Alfaro; sister, Alicia Molina; and brother-in-law, Estevan Alegria.

Survivors left to cherish her memories are her sons: Pedro Gonzalez, Jr. (Benilde) of Alice, Victor Manuel Gonzalez (Amelia) of College Station, Luciano Gonzalez of Alice; daughters: Micaela Canales, of Alice, Susie Monsevais (Joe) of Alice; sister; Hortencia Alegria; and brother-in-law, Urbano Molina.

Margarita is also survived by her wonderful grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Treviño Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St., from 5 to 9 PM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 to Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at New Collins Cemetery.
