Maria Estella Alfaro, a cherished soul, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2023, in Corpus Christi, TX. Born on January 24, 1951, in Hebbronville, TX, Maria's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and enduring memories that will be treasured by all who knew her. Maria's journey through life was marked by her unwavering spirit and the joy she found in simple pleasures. She had an affinity for the spicy kick of Hot Red Gum and the sweet, icy delight of snowcones, treats that mirrored her own blend of fiery zest and gentle sweetness. Her laughter was a familiar and comforting echo that resonated in the hearts of her loved ones. A devoted mother, sister, and friend, Maria's legacy is carried on by her adoring family. She is survived by her daughter, Ruby Garcia, and her partner Mike Coleman; her daughter, Frances Alfaro Ayala; her sons, Mark Garcia, David Alfaro, and Rudy Garcia; her sisters, Christella Canales, Esmeralda Fuentes, Melba Canales Castillo, Rosa Canales, and Lydia Hinojosa; and her brothers, Roel Canales, Homer Canales, Andres Canales, and Luis Pena. Each of them reflects a facet of Maria's loving spirit and kindness. Maria's life was a testament to the enduring bonds of family and the joy of everyday moments. Her presence was a gift to those around her, and her memory will continue to be a guiding light. As we bid farewell to Maria Estella Alfaro, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the indelible mark she has left on our lives. Maria’s family will receive condolences on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave., from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 2:00 PM followed by the Liturgy of the Word at 2:30 PM. Services will conclude in the chapel that day.
