Maria G. Morales

Maria “Mary” Morales, a cherished member of her community and a devoted mother, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025. Maria was a dedicated employee at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. Her commitment to public service was evident through her active participation in numerous local elections.

Maria found joy in family, cooking, sewing, gardening and weekly bingo, where her vibrant spirit was always present.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and daughter, Monica Castillo, as well as her brothers and sisters, Margarita Aguilar, Esperanza Guerra, Consuelo Nava, Francisco Gonzales Jr., Guillermo Gonzales, Fernando Gonzales, and Manuel Gonzales.

Maria leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her legacy, her sons, Manuel Morales with wife Ashlie, and Mark Morales with wife Cynthia; her sister, Gloria Stergius; her son-in-law, Roger Castillo; her grandchildren, Roman Fuentes, Alyx Barajas, Dominique Castillo, Ella Morales and Olivia Morales; and her great-grandchildren, Roman Fuentes Jr., Jasmine Fuentes and Emerson Barajas.

Maria's enduring love and strength will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on through those she has left behind. May she rest in peace, joining those who have gone before her in eternal happiness.

Maria’s family will receive condolences on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave. The Holy Rosary and Liturgy of the Word will begin at 11:30 AM followed by Rite of Committal and Interment at Rose Hill Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest.
