The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page - St. Augustine

Maria Luisa (Mary Lou) Garcia Rabb, of Ben Bolt, Texas, passed away on December 25, 2016, at the age of 83, in Orlando, Florida.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017, at Trevino Funeral Home, 120 E. Front Street, Alice, Texas with the Monsignor Pivonka of St. Elizabeth of Hungary, officiating.

Mary Lou was born in Ben Bolt, Texas to Dionicio Garcia and Eloisa Gonzalez Garcia on March 22, 1933. She went to school at Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco High School. She attended Texas A&I University and graduated with a major in History and a minor in Government. She married Larry Jack Rabb on June 16, 1962 at the Cathedral of San Fernando in San Antonio, Texas.

Mary Lou and Larry led an adventurous life together, traveling to numerous places on the world map. My Mom would pack up their three kids and pets and all their earthly belongings moving to Brazil, Holland, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela and Mexico City. We were a family of gypsies but we always had a home wherever my Mom was. My Mom would always remind, when we returned to San Diego and the Ranch for the holidays, that Texas was our home. We have some of our most memorable moments with our Garcia family at my parents’ ranch house outside of Realitos. My Mom has come back home to Ben Bolt to rest with her family, as we all will one day. Our Mom was blessed to have the opportunity to not only read a few pages but to write her own book.

Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings, Alberto, Ralph, Milo, Estela Lopez, Romeo and Carlos.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 54 years, Larry Jack Rabb, her children, Lorina Marie Rabb Parente, Sally Louise Rabb Carvalho and Lawrence John and her grandchildren, Bianca Mar, Larry John, Lawson John, Bryce Austin and Anna Luiza.

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
