Mario Saldaña Sr., born on November 16, 1982, passed away on July 8, 2026, leaving behind a legacy cherished by family and friends who knew and loved him deeply.
Mario’s life was marked by his energy, dedication, and the passions he nurtured throughout the years. He was the beloved son of Diana Medina and Benito Saldaña, and husband to Amelia Bustamante, standing as a pillar of support and care for those closest to him. Mario was a devoted father to his son, Mario Saldaña Jr., with whom he shared a special bond rooted in love and pride.
Family was the heart of Mario’s world. He is survived by his brothers, Jessie Saldaña and Benito Saldaña Jr., who remember Mario’s unwavering loyalty and the strength he brought to their family circle. He was a guiding figure to his nephew, Benito Saldaña III and niece, Desirae Saldaña; and a caring presence in the lives of his aunts, Janie Saldaña, Sandra (Hector) Gonzalez, Sonia Saldaña, and Lisa; along with his uncle Abel, (Jessika) Saldaña. Each remembers Mario’s unique presence and the warmth he spread at every family gathering.
Mario was preceded in death by his cherished grandfather, grandmother, an uncle, and a cousin. Their memories remained ever close to his heart.
Mario was a man known for his passions and unique interests. He was a dedicated collector of guns and found joy in the world of Harley Davidson, appreciating both the history and the freedom these motorcycles symbolized. Owning his own Harley was a particular point of pride. Fishing was another pursuit that brought him peace, and he was well known among friends and family for his love of time spent on the water, casting a line and savoring the tranquility.
Mario Saldaña will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. His strong character, generous spirit, and the memories he created will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be part of his journey. As family and friends mourn his passing, they also celebrate the vibrant life he led and the enduring impact he made on each of them.
