Mario Roel "Roy" Rios

Mario Roel "Roy" Rios, a cherished family man and friend passed away on September 13, 2024, at the age of 62. Born on September 29, 1961, Roy's journey through life was marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear. Roy was a beacon of light in the lives of many, especially his only daughter, Jessica De La Garza (Sol), who, along with his adored grandchildren, Andrea and Marcelo, brought him immeasurable pride and joy. His presence as a father and grandfather was a source of endless love and inspiration, creating memories that will be treasured forever. His departure is deeply felt by his sisters, Maria R. Leal, Isabelle Ramirez, Elvira Rivera, Lucia Castro, and Amanda Solis, who will remember him as a kind and gentle soul, always ready with a comforting embrace. His legacy also lives on through his many nieces and nephews, who found in him a loving uncle and a figure of unwavering support. Roy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Andrea Rios, with whom he shared a profound and beautiful partnership. Their love story began when they married at the tender age of 17, and their bond only strengthened over their 34 years of marriage. He also joins his parents, Pedro and Lucia Rios, in eternal rest, as well as his brothers, Pedro Rios Jr., Juan Jesus Rios, Manuel Rios, and his sisters, Juanita R. Leal and Emilia R. Trevino. Roy's zest for life extended beyond his family. His passion for riding his Hyabusa motorcycle and his enthusiasm for remote-controlled cars and planes reflected his spirited and adventurous nature. He brought the same joy and energy to his professional life as an IT specialist in Corpus Christi, where he was not only respected for his expertise but also loved for his ability to connect with people. Roy's warm demeanor and genuine interest in others allowed him to make lasting friendships wherever he went. While we grieve Roy's passing, we take comfort in the belief that he is now reunited with his wife, Andrea, in a place of peace and serenity. The lessons he taught us, the love he gave us, and the example he set for living a life of integrity and joy will continue to guide us. Roy's life was a testament to the beauty that can be found in the everyday, the strength of family bonds, and the enduring power of love. As we bid farewell to a man who was the embodiment of generosity and warmth, let us hold close the memories we shared with him and honor his legacy by living our lives with the same compassion and zest that he did.
