Obituary

Mark Rivera, a beloved father, son, brother, and uncle, peacefully passed away in the city of his birth and lifelong residence. Born on October 1, 1975, Mark embodied a heart of gold that touched everyone who knew him. Mark’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ donation.

A man of many passions, Mark’s love for the outdoors was evident in his fondness for fishing and hunting, pursuits through which he found solace and joy. His connection with nature was matched only by his love for his family and his devotion to his pets – Diesel, Edward, and Black Girl – who were constant companions and reflections of his caring spirit.

Mark was a great father, a loving son, brother, and uncle, qualities that defined his everyday life. He is survived by his devoted son, Damien Rivera, and Damien’s wife, Lisa Troung; his daughter, Katelyn Rivera; and his mother, Josie Rivera. His legacy extends warmly to his grandchildren, Tommy Rivera, Camilla Rivera, and Isabella Rivera, who brought immense delight to his life. Mark’s sister, Lisa Lee, together with her husband, David Lee, along with nephews Jonathan Lee and his wife Emily Camplese, and Kelli Lee and her husband Johnny Garcia, continue to carry forward the love and warmth that Mark so generously shared. His great nephews and nieces — Kyden Garcia, Kesleigh Garcia, Caroline Lee, and Carson Lee — also remember him fondly. The extended circle of numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins adds to the remarkable family fabric that embraced Mark throughout his life. The mother of his children, Nancy Saldana, remains a part of his story, sharing in the memories of their life together.

Mark’s father, Edward Rivera, has preceded him in death, leaving a paternal legacy that Mark honored with heartfelt remembrance.

Visitation will be held at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St @ Port Ave, on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. A Mass to celebrate Mark’s life will take place the following day, June 8, at 11:30 AM, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Mark Rivera’s legacy is one of kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. He leaves behind a world made brighter by his presence, a family strengthened by his devotion, and friends enriched by his friendship. As we gather to honor Mark's memory, we hold close the image of a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and will be deeply missed. May his soul find eternal peace and may his family and friends find comfort in the boundless love he leaves behind.
