Martin M. Fuentes, Jr.

Martin M. Fuentes, Jr., 68 years of age was born in McAllen, Texas on September 7, 1948. His mother was Maria C. Macias and father was Martin M. Fuentes, Sr.

Martin has suffered an unexpected heart attack that ended his earthly life. With immense sadness during this time, we also have comfort and joy. We know without a doubt that a grand celebration took place as he entered the pearly gates of heaven. He would always go each day, with his eyes set on finding anyone he could help in any way he could possibly can. He had a passion to always do for others and he always went over and beyond. He never said he couldn’t help you out. His saying was “if there’s a will, there’s a way”, so we know now, that without a doubt Jesus Christ welcomed him with open arms by saying “Well done, good and faithful servant”.

Martin will be tremendously missed by so many and one day we will all see him again. He was an amazing father, husband, uncle, grandfather, friend, and more than anything, the best mentor anyone could ask for. I know that all the advice he left behind will forever be kept in everyone’s heart, mind and soul.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Maria C. Macias and Martin M. Fuentes, Sr.

Martin is survived by his wife, Bertha Ruiz Fuentes; daughters, Aimee (Oscar, Jr.) Uribe, Abby (Orlando) Rocha and Alma (Keith) Butler; sons, Al Fuentes, Adrian Fuentes and Mike Quintanilla; sister, Veronica (Oscar) Coronel; grand kids, Antonio Fuentes, Alex Fuentes, Karina Fuentes, Skylar Fuentes, Satine Fuentes, Micaela Uribe, Yzabella Uribe, Ariana Rocha, Natalie Rocha, Caleb Rocha, Isaiah Rocha, Elijah Rocha, Victoria De Los Santos, Sandra De Los Santos, Alicia De Los Santos, Mike Quintanilla Jr., Lia Quintanilla, Brandon Quintanilla, Isabella Quintanilla; great-grandson, Ryan Hardaway.

The family will be receiving friends from 5pm to 9pm on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. at Port; with a Prayer Service at 6pm. A Chapel Service will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 10am at Treviño Funeral Home; Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
