Martin Peña, Jr., 78, of Corpus Christi, Texas, entered eternal rest on July 19, 2025. A devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and loyal friend, Martin left a legacy of love, humor, and generosity that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him. Born on June 30, 1947, in Corpus Christi, Martin was the beloved son of the late Eugenio M. Silvas and Martha G. Silvas. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Lucilla Martinez; and his brother, Reynaldo Silvas.

Martin is survived by his loving wife, Alma Peña, and his children, Sandra Benavidez (husband Robert), Frederick Peña, Martin Peña, Jr. (wife Samanda), and Erik Barraza. He is also survived by his sister, Rosie Ramirez (husband Hilario); his brother, Gene Silvas Jr.; and his sister-in-law, Mary Silvas. He is survived as well by Alma’s children, Lori Trevino (husband Luis), Joey Delgado (wife Pam), and Jeff Delgado. A proud grandfather, Martin leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Larissa Benavidez, Adam Benavidez, Sophia Peña, Xoë Peña, and Ryan Molina, as well as Alma’s grandchildren, Lauren Taghavi (husband Austin), Daniel Trevino, Logan Trevino, Paul Delgado, Patrick Delgado, and great-grandson, Landon Taghavi. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Martin had a deep passion for life and simple pleasures. He enjoyed playing golf, shooting pool, and rooting for his favorite sports teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros. He loved hunting, working on cars, and was always up for trying his luck with a lottery ticket. Martin valued time spent with family and friends above all else, often filling those moments with laughter, stories, and heartfelt connection. Professionally, Martin dedicated over 15 years of his life to the service department at Allen Samuels Chevrolet in Corpus Christi, where he was respected for his leadership, customer service, and managerial skills. Martin’s legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Memorial Service honoring Martin’s life will be celebrated on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave., from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Services will conclude in the chapel that evening.
