Mary Alice Ayala

Mary Alice Ayala, a beacon of kindness and unwavering faith, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on March 24, 1935, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Mary's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and spiritual devotion.

Mary was preceded in death by her son, Rey Ayala, and her brothers, Richard, John, James, and Robert Esparza. Mary is survived by her sons, Gilbert Ayala and Alejandro Ayala; her sisters, Yolanda (Gerald) Clerk and Patricia (Rudy) Valdez; and sister-in-law Maria Del Refugio Franco Esperanza.

Her early years in Corpus Christi laid the foundation for a life filled with the joys of nature and community. Mary's passion for gardening was evident to all who knew her; her garden was not only a place of beauty and serenity but also a symbol of her nurturing spirit. An "angel" on earth, as many would describe her, she found solace and strength in her faith, attending church regularly and living by the principles she held dear. Mary's goodness and noble character were evident in every interaction. Her kindness extended beyond her family, touching the lives of friends and strangers alike. She lived by a moral compass that inspired those around her, leading by example and embodying the virtues she valued most.

Mary's interests were a reflection of her love for the simple pleasures in life. She relished the taste of tacos, a treat that never failed to bring a smile to her face. Music was a constant companion, providing a soundtrack to her life's many moments, both big and small. The scenery of San Antonio held a special place in her heart, and she took every opportunity to immerse herself in the beauty of the city she loved.

As we bid farewell to Mary Alice Ayala, we celebrate the remarkable life she led and the profound  impact she made. Her spirit, characterized by generosity and compassion, will continue to live on through the memories she has left behind. Mary's life was a journey of love, faith, and beauty, and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to be a part of her story.
