Mary Joan Cabriales

Mary Joan Cabriales, age 69, born March 18, 1956, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, at Spohn Hospital surrounded by her loving family. A native of Corpus Christi, and fifth of eight children, Mary Joan leaves a wonderful legacy of family and friends.

Mary Joan was a beloved wife, mother, sister, tia, and friend. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lou Carrion; her father, Adan Carrion; and her brother, Adan Alfredo Carrion. She is survived by her husband, Carlos Cabriales; her son, Eduardo Carrion; and her siblings, Victor (Lupe) Carrion, Julia Erwin from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Rene Carrion from Houston, Texas, Vicky Carrion, Sandra (Adrian) Cruz, and Patrick (Mary Ann) Carrion. Mary Joan was blessed with several nieces and nephews who loved her beyond measure.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and could light up a room with her joyous laughter and crazy, silly jokes. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with family, playing bingo, playing slot machines, watching her novelas, and last but not least, she loved caring for Jenny and Red, her beloved puppies.

Mary Joan’s family will receive condolences on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara at Port Ave., from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM; a Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, a Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. Following mass, Mary Joan will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens cemetery at 12:00 PM, where services will conclude.
