With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Lou Perez on July 31, 2026. Mary Lou was the matriarch of her family and a faithful, devoted, and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was defined by compassion, loyalty, and unconditional love.

Mary Lou shared a beautiful marriage with her beloved husband, Noe Javier Perez, who was a devoted husband and partner in life. She was a faithful and loyal wife who stood beside him through every season of life, offering love, unwavering support, and strength. Together, they built a beautiful family founded on faith, love, laughter, and the values that Mary Lou carried with her every day. To know Mary Lou was to understand that love was not simply something she gave; it was who she was.

She leaves behind her cherished children, Erika Lou Gonzalez (Robert), Erik Javier Perez (Teresa), and Doroteo Angel Iruegas (Dulce), who are a testament to the endless love, care, and devotion that she poured into every moment of their lives. Through every sacrifice and every embrace, Mary Lou showed her children what it meant to love wholeheartedly and live with compassion.

Her family extends to Herlinda Elizondo, Fermina Ramos, Sylvia Garza (Baldemor), Rose Gonzalez, and Telesforo Trevino Jr. (Lydia), with whom she shared countless memories, laughter, and moments that will last a lifetime. The bonds she created with her family will forever remain a source of comfort and strength.

Mary Lou was also the proud grandmother of Brianna Nicole Gonzalez (Frankie), Nathaniel Javier Perez, Britnee Nicole Gonzalez, Ethan Erik Perez, Robert Chevy Gonzalez “Buster”, Erik Javier Perez Jr., and Elena Grace Iruegas, as well as the loving great-grandmother of Francisco Javier Nesmith III “Baby Frankie”. Her love for her grandchildren was evident in every hug, smile, laugh, and precious moment spent together. She watched them grow with hope in her heart and endless pride, always encouraging them and reminding them that they were deeply loved.

Mary Lou found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed the excitement of her lottery scratch-off tickets. She also loved playing bingo and cherished the excitement, laughter, and time spent with family and friends that came with every game. She loved watching The Price Is Right with her husband every morning, always enjoying the fun, energy, and excitement of the show. These moments reflected the vibrant woman she was, someone who cherished laughter, excitement, and the people who surrounded her. Above all else, what Mary Lou loved most was her family.

Her legacy lives on through the values and morals she instilled in those around her. Even though she is no longer physically with us, her spirit will continue to live on in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and everyone blessed enough to know her. To know Mary Lou was to understand the true meaning of loyalty, kindness, and unconditional love. Her acts of compassion and willingness to help others spoke volumes about the extraordinary woman she was.

Mary Lou is preceded in death by her loving parents, Elvira Mata Trevino and Telesforo Trevino, who welcomed her home into eternal peace, as well as her siblings, Humberto Rene Trevino, Ramiro Trevino Sr. “Ricky”, Maria Delmar Herrera, and Katherine T. Espinoza.

As we honor Mary Lou’s memory, we will miss her deeply. We will forever remember her kindness, generosity, warmth, wisdom, strength, and the immense love she shared with all of us. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find peace in knowing that God has welcomed her into His eternal kingdom, where she is free from pain and reunited with the family members who went before her.

Mary Lou Perez’s love will remain in our hearts forever, and her memory will continue to guide us for generations to come.

Visitation will be held at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St @ Port Ave, on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following day Friday, August 7, at 11:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
