Mary L (Lopez) Sosa

Mary L. Sosa passed away peacefully on July 30, 2020. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on December 22, 1945. Mary enjoyed gambling; especially her slot machines. She loved playing bingo, dancing, listening to music from her era, and she enjoyed caring for her cats and dog.

Mary is preceded in death by her mother, Cruz T. Lopez; brother, Baldemar Lopez; and sister, Macaria L. Tey.

Among those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Amado “Mayo” Sosa, Jr.; daughters, Belinda (Mark) Molina, Gracie (Joe) Sosa, Lupita (Rolando) Mayen, and Janie Sosa; sons, Eddie (Margie) Recio, Leovardo (Marisela) Sosa, Gilbert (Christina) Sosa; brother, Ignacio (Maria) Lopez, and sister, Margarita “Mengie” (Narciso) Lerma; 16 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 11:30 AM. A Funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 12:30 PM to Rose Hill Cemetery for Rite of Committal and Interment at 1:00 PM.
