Mary Esther Cantu

Mary E. Cantu passed away on December 22, 2020 at the age of 66.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  Mary loved caring for other people, infants and adults.  She will be dearly missed by all whom knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Cantu Paz; parents, Gilbert O. Leal sr. and Paz G. Leal; and brothers, Carlos Leal, Timothy G. “Sonny” Leal, Robert ‘Bobby” Leal, and Charlie Leal.

Mary is survived by her husband of 47 years, Eduardo Cantu; daughter, Jo Ann (Christian) Scott; grandchild, William Ryan Scott; sister, Dolores Garcia; brother, Johnny Joe Leal; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port; with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.  A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, to Holy Family Catholic Church for a Mass at 10:00 AM.  Services will conclude after the mass.

Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
