Our beloved mother, Mary “Sylvia” Flores, passed away on August 29, 2021 surrounded by her family. Mom was born to Cesario and Refugia (Rodriguez) Curiel on Valentine’s Day of 1939 in Sarita, Texas. She truly was our gift of love. Mom was a loving and caring mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso Flores, Jr.; her daughter, Gracie Ann Flores; her parents; and her brothers, Rudy Curiel and Robert Curiel. Our Mom enjoyed spending time in her garden and loved cooking for her family. She had many stories to share; many memorable stories were from her time spent living on the ranch with her family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, James Emery Flores (Elizabeth) and Genevieve Gail “Genny” Henicke (Chris); grandchildren, Matthew Martinez, Brenden Henicke, Kendan Henicke, Merisa Lucio Flores, Emery Flores II, and Alyssa Flores; and great-grandchildren, Emery Flores III, John Velasquez, Matthew Chavez, Jillian Flores, Jocelyn Flores, and Daniel Olson.
Thank you from all of us, to all who were so kind to remember Mom in your prayers as she journeyed through her path to Heaven.
The family will receive condolences on Monday, September 13, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port; with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm.
