Melba's legacy is carried on through her beloved children, Richard Arnold Fernandez Jr. (Maria), Nicole Marie Fernandez (Robert), Simon Fernandez (Joana), and Diana Iris Fernandez Martinez (Andres). She was a devoted mother, and her guidance and affection shaped the lives of her children in countless ways. Her siblings, Gloria Galvan (Ralph), Marlyna Trevino (Robert), Monica Tamez (Eugene), Jerome Garcia (Liz), and Jeorge Garcia (Sylvia), will remember her as a sister who always led with her heart, offering support and laughter in equal measure. Melba also was survived by her 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, will forever cherish the memories of their grandmother's boundless love and the joy she brought into their lives. Melba was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Elida and Javier Homero Garcia Sr., her husband, Richard Arnold Fernandez Sr., and her siblings, Javier "Blackie" Garcia (Pat+), Joel Garcia (Mary), Cindy Garcia (Reynaldo), and Sylvia Garcia Ramirez (Joe). Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her loved ones who have passed before her. Those who knew Melba will remember her as the embodiment of kindness. Her gentle, caring nature made her a confidante and friend to many. Her ability to find humor in the everyday brought laughter to even the most mundane moments, and her kindness was a constant source of comfort to those around her.
