Melissa Ann Hernandez

Melissa Ann Hernandez, 46, passed away on December 2, 2022, in Corpus Christi, Texas.  Melissa was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Margie Naranjo and Mike Salinas on October 24, 1976. She attended W.B. Ray High School and graduated from Del Mar College.

She worked in customer service and healthcare for many years. Melissa was raised by a village within her family and with that love, became a loving and giving person. She was a strong-willed mother, daughter, sister, and friend who touched the lives of those around her with her kind heart. Melissa loved and accepted people for who they were always. She loved all her family and celebrating holidays; Halloween was her favorite. Melissa will be truly missed by all those lives she touched.

Melissa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Cristella Naranjo and Jose Naranjo, and her husband, Thomas Gonzales.

Left behind to cherish Melissa’s memories, are her children, Jaclyne Jewels Hernandez, Jacob Hernandez (Victoria), and Gabriel Hernandez (Josiah); grandkids, Nadia Naleah Pedraza, Nyla Rai Pedraza, Elijah Jay Hernandez, Jacob Christopher Hernandez, Maylee Emmalyn Hernandez, and Mason James Hernandez; siblings, Roland Rodriguez (Adriana), Amber Coronado (Cody), Mike Jr. Salinas, Gary Salinas (Stephanie), Jason Salinas, Jacob Salinas, Gabriel Salinas, and Adam Salinas; parents, Mike Salinas (Dora), and Margie Naranjo; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Trevino Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara @ Port Ave; with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. A funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Monday, December 19, 2022, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church. Services will conclude that same day.
