Minerva Garcia Martinez

Minerva Garcia Martinez passed away on August 4, 2021 at the age of 92. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Minerva had a lot of faith and trust in the Lord and was a lifetime active and faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Minerva worked 35 years in the cafeteria for the Alice Independent School District and also worked for Herb and Katherin Miller for 56 years as housekeeper. She will be dearly missed by all whom knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ramon Martinez; son, Raul Roel Martinez Sr; her parents, Melesio and Daria Garcia; brothers, Guadalupe Garcia, Paulino Garcia, Tristan Garcia, Dario Garcia, and Amador Garcia; and sisters, Ortencia Garcia, Romana Salinas, Rosenda Mendez, Petra Garcia, Francisca Guerra, and Eusebia Garcia.

Minerva is survived by her sons, Ramiro Mickey (Katherine) Martinez and Osiel Ocie (Nora) Martinez; grandchildren, Jessica Martinez, Ozzie Alcala, Raul Roel Martinez Jr., Carlos Martinez, Mia Guadalupe Martinez, Osiel RR Martinez, and Tommy Martinez; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 120 E. Front St., Alice, Texas; with Prayer Service to be recited at 12:00 PM by Pastor Juvenal Cervantes from Denver Colorado; followed by Rite of Committal and Interment at Old Collins Cemetery. Honoring Minerva as pallbearers are Ram Herrera, Danny Bueno, David Guerrero, Osiel RR Martinez, Tommy Martinez, and Carlos Martinez.

Face masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced while attending funeral services due to the current pandemic.
